Best Places To Ski Near Salt Lake City – Brighton Ski Resort

October 19, 2017

Ski season is almost here and Salt Lake City will soon become a winter wonderland. With an idyllic location in close proximity to some of the country’s finest ski runs, our Pony Express RV Resort is a great launching point for those visiting one of the area’s most beloved skiing destinations: The Brighton Ski Resort.

Located at the very top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, the mountain averages over 500 inches of snow each winter. The snow found here is ideal for riders and skiers of all levels as it is traditionally light, fluffy, and dry.

The snow is groomed nightly in most areas (except on the runs designed for experts) and Brighton’s terrain is very unique; 100% of the grounds can be accessed by high speed quads. This means that groups of friends and families can ride the lift together, take off on different trails designed for different skill levels, meet at the bottom of the run, and ride the lift back up together!

Brighton Ski Resort also offers the most night skiing options in Utah. With 22 runs on over 200 lighted acres, you can enjoy an exhilarating night run until 9:00 pm on most evenings. (Night skiing: 4 – 9 pm Monday through Saturday early December through March).

Besides offering 1,050 acres and 1,875 vertical feet of skiing options, the Brighton Ski Resort also offers on-site eateries such as the Millicent Chalet, Alpine Rose Cafeteria, Molly Green’s, Blind Miner Coffee, and a picnic area for those who wish to pack their own meals. On-site you will also find high quality rentals, a ski and snowboard school, lockers, and various public transit/park & ride options.
